THE WINERY OF TENUTA PODERNOVO
Separated from the Casale by a sloping garden and water features, the Tenuta Podernovo cellar lives in symbiosis with the territory, as evidenced by the exposed stones recalling those of the hillock, with history, of which it represents the modern evolution , and with the man whose work he keeps the fruits.
The charm of this territory, once covered by the sea, fascinated the Lunelli family, for three generations at the helm of Ferrari Trento,
in the early 1980s, leading them to dedicating their time to the creation of elegant and long-lived Tuscan red wines.

Tenuta Podernovo reconciles wine with hospitality, as the historical and cultural identity of the area, and represents an element of continuity, from the Etruscans to the present day. It is a splendid vine-covered hill in the commune of Terricciola, within the up-and-coming, high-quality wine zone of the colline pisane, just few km far from the Tuscan Coast.
The particular geographical position and the composition of the soil, rich in sand and fossil deposits, create the microclimate and optimal conditions for the cultivation of the vine: this is why the choice of the fossil as the logo and distinctive element of the wines of Tenuta Podernovo.

Tenute Lunelli’s vineyards are cultivated according to organic farming principles, totally eliminating herbicides, insecticides and acaricides. It has been decided to embrace a sustainable approach to defense using natural elements such as sulfur and copper.

A pure Cabernet Franc, it owes its name to Arca Aurita, the fossil shell of marine origin present for millions of years in the Estate’s soils, which gives this wine a persuasive minerality.
Solid and elegant, its intense savouriness and fine tannins stand out in the glass.
Auritea 2017 was awarded Five Bunches by Bibenda.
Teuto

It is an elegant, sophisticated wine that combines the Tuscan character of Sangiovese with the international touch of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The name evokes the people from the North who settled, many centuries ago, in these wonderful lands.
Teuto 2018 has received the Tre Bicchieri award from Gambero Rosso.
Aliotto

Expression of a splendid blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from vineyards that stand on soils rich in fossil shells at an altitude of almost 140 on the Tuscan coast. Its fancy name is a tribute to a glorious protagonist of local history.
Aliotto 2018 was awarded 89/100 by Falstaff.

A pure Sangiovese, the result of a rigorous selection of the estate’s grapes, it owes its name to the Solenida shell. A wine of great character, also thanks to the use of amphorae in vinification. Dense and vibrant, each sip conveys its great personality and absolute longevity.
Solenida 2016 was honoured with a Gold medal by The Wine Hunter.
